Rainier volcano. Earth from Space

Rainier volcano. Earth from Space

This is a radar image of Mount Rainier, in the state of Washington. The volcano erupted for the last time approximately 150 years ago and the heavy rains and torrent have caused these cracks on its slopes over the past century.

The volcano is covered by glaciers today. The round cone that appears in the center of the image is at 4,399 meters. In the lower areas, the last songs and debris connect with coniferous forests that, in the photo, appear in yellow.
